In 2008 I received my BA in Graphic Design with a Business minor from Loyola Marymount University, LA in May of 2008, I returned to Arizona and worked for Keane Creative in Tempe. Fresh from college, I had an immediate opportunity to dive into branding, campaign, and marketing collateral with the creative director honing my skills in concepting, following through, and completing each project.
FMQ Development hired me in March 2009 as the business development assistant and company buyer where I received a broad range of business experiences, as well as juggled many different tasks each day from design and marketing work to store retail to developing relationships with many different vendors.
From December 2009 until March 2010 I acquired a graphic design internship with ReThinc Advertising in Old Town Scottsdale. I assisted the creative director with many projects, experienced the advertising side of design, and built my portfolio.
I have been freelancing with Miss Details Design, creating ideas and concepts for logos, business cards, brochures, menus, and more since September 2008. I also managed and completed other small projects with my own clients on top of my full time job with FMQ and during my internship with ReThinc. Continuing on in my design career, I worked at BC Graphics in Tempe, Arizona as a graphic designer.
For nearly two years, I had the privilege of gaining many valuable experiences with the creative services team of the Phoenix Suns. Design life in the sports and entertainment industry is fast paced, therefore organization, dedication, and efficiency are important traits all of which will be carried throughout my design career.
For nearly four years I worked with Sitewire on Mill Avenue in Tempe. From Interactive Designer to Art Director I was given heightened responsibilities and experienced new challenges. Projects included full website design and, branding design, facilitation of customer journey mapping, design thinking and design studio workshops, and creative social media campaigns.
Currently, I am a Sr. UX/UI design lead with University of Phoenix where I focus to improve and enhance digital experiences for users, current and future students. I am also leading a small team of UX Designers by supporting them, empowering them and working as a team to build successful solutions to products of the organization.
Aside from my work experience, I have served on the AIGA Arizona board in a couple of positions since 2010. I currently hold the position of President where I lead and manage the chapter currently consisting of activity in Flagstaff, Phoenix and Tucson.
